WAPman
WAP Compatible Browser For Palm OS And Windows
WAPman is a WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) 1.1 compatible Web
browser available for the Palm OS and for Windows. The browser can
be freely downloaded from the EdgeMatrix (formerly known as The
Edge Consultants) Web site.
Compatible with WAP 1.1 and WML 1.1, the browser promises
to bring WAP compatible Web services to Palm OS based devices and
Windows desktops. As WAP compatible services continue to be produced
and WAP capable devices such as Cellular Phones, PDAs, and two-way
pagers continue to be deplyed, users of Palm devices will be able
to make use of these WAP services as they are developed.
The vendor is also supplying a Windows based toolkit
allowing developers to simulate a WAP device on a PC.
EdgeMatrix has also announced the development of WAPman
Color, which will run on PDAs sporting a color enabled (3.5+) Palm
OS. WAPman color will support the simultaneous display of up to
256 colors.
The WAPman browsers are available both for individual
download and for OEM manufacturers from the EdgeMatix Web site.
